These two teams have now competed against each other on 80 occasions in the domestic championship. SKA have earned 30 wins, six games have ended in a draw, and Ak Bars Kazan have tallied 44 victories.
For the second time in the KHL, four consecutive matches between SKA and Ak Bars have not been decided in regulation time. This current run started on 4 December 2019.
12 out of our 27 KHL games against this Tatar organisation have required either overtime or penalty shots.
This marked SKA's third overtime triumph over Ak Bars. Interestingly, all of those wins have been witnessed in Kazan: 2:1 on 10 January 2006, 3:2 on 6 December 2017 and 4:3 yesterday.
In the KHL, both SKA and Ak Bars have registered two overtime wins and four penalty shootout victories against each other.
Forward Anton Burdasov scored SKA's 100th goal of the 2021/2022 campaign. This is the third year in a row when Anton has tallied our 100th marker of the season.
In his 473rd KHL game, fellow forward Nikita Gusev scored his 150th league goal. He became the 22nd player to tally a minimum of 150 markers in the championship.
107 of Nikita's goals have been scored for SKA. The remaining 43 were netted when representing CSKA Moscow, Amur Khabarovsk and Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk. Furthermore, this was the second time when Nikita hit the jackpot in the extra frame for SKA, with his first overtime goal for our team having been scored on 30 November 2016 against Sochi on the road.
