Andrei Kuzmenko: "We should have won this match"
- Why did SKA lose so heavily?
- Yes, we didn't play well. At the start of the match, we were in the driving seat, but then mistakes came along and we conceded sloppy goals. Salavat Yulaev are a good team, but it's disappointing to lose 1:4. We should have won. Nevertheless, we are a united team, and we will get out of the situation.
- SKA had problems taking advantage of their opportunities.
- We wanted to score beautiful goals, but when that doesn't work out, you need to score dirty goals on the crease.
- Did their goalkeeper Andrei Kareev grow in confidence as the match progressed?
- He did a great job, well done to him. However, we should have taken advantage of the chances which we had. If we had scored when it was 1:1, the game would have turned out differently.
- Maybe SKA's players had too much motivation with it being the opening home match?
- I wouldn't say that. Of course we wanted to please the fans, especially given that the Ice Palace was full. I thank the fans for their great support.
- Did the long break make things worse for you in terms of match practice?
- No.
