By scoring in each of the first six matches of the 2020/2021 campaign, forward Anton Burdasov has set a new KHL record. No player in the history of the championship had ever scored in the opening six games of a new season. Anton's goals were scored against Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk (twice), Ak Bars Kazan, Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and Avangard Omsk. Danis Zaripov (Ak Bars), Denis Platonov (Metallurg Magnitogorsk) and Philip Larsen (Salavat Yulaev Ufa) had all previously scored in the first five matches of a particular KHL season.
Anton has now tallied 50 goals for SKA in 228 appearances. He is the 15th player in SKA's history to reach this landmark. Furthermore, no SKA forward had ever scored in six successive KHL games before, with Anton beating the previous record of five matches with a goal set by Konstantin Gorovikov (2008/2009), Mattias Weinhandl (2010/2011), Ilya Kovalchuk (2014/2015) and Nikita Gusev (2016/2017). However, defenseman Patrik Hersley did register goals in six KHL games in a row between the 15th and 27th of September 2017.
Evgeny Ketov dished out his 50th SKA assist.
Canadian forward Linden Vey scored his maiden SKA goal.
Defenseman Igor Ozhiganov has gained at least one point in all of the last four SKA games.
This is the second season in a row when Kirill Semyonov has scored shorthanded against SKA in Balashikha. Moreover, just like in the 2019/2020 campaign, the assist was made by Alexei Potapov.
