All of SKA's last eight shutouts have been achieved by Lars Johansson - a new club record concerning the amount of successive team shutouts which have been registered only by one goalkeeper. Previously, the record was seven club shutouts in a row from Valeri Ivannikov (1993/1994) and Sergei Naumov (2002/2003). SKA's previous KHL record was six consecutive clean sheets which were all picked up by Mikko Koskinen during the 2015/2016 campaign.
Overall, SKA have now earned 44 victories in regulation and overtime by the score of 1:0. Interestingly, only seven of those games saw a defenseman score the winning goal. Daniil Pylenkov did indeed become the seventh SKA defenseman to net the only marker in a 1:0 win as he hit the target in the 31st minute yesterday.
Both of Daniil's two goals for SKA in the KHL so far have been game-winners. On October 21, he opened the scoring in Saint Petersburg as our team defeated Kunlun Red Star Beijing 7:0.
