On February 23, the Hockey City complex in Saint Petersburg hosted events dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day. The event was organised by SKA Hockey Club in cooperation with the Leningrad Region Ice Hockey Federation and the Military Ice Hockey League.
An exhibition of military equipment and retro cars took place on the territory of the complex. In the foyer of the main entrance, there was an exposition of weapons and an appointment point for military service for everyone. Medical master classes were held in the lobby of the second floor, and guests could also learn how to enter the Military Medical Academy and spend time with SKA mascots.
Inside the main Hockey City arena, the Cup of Courage was played. The tournament was opened by pupils of the SKA Legion and SKA Army schools. The match ended with the victory of the SKA Army, but all of the young ice hockey players received medals and mementos. Then, games took place between military teams, with Armada-Piter becoming the winners of the Leningrad Region Military Ice Hockey League.
The opening and awards ceremonies were attended by SKA General Director Andrei Tochitsky, Head of the Naval Academy Vice Admiral Viktor Sokolov and SKA forward Vasily Podkolzin.
