SKA have now participated in 900 KHL matches: 746 in the regular season and 154 in the Gagarin Cup playoffs. So far, SKA have achieved 615 victories (100 in the playoffs) and scored 2950 goals. Both of those statistics are the best in the league.
Forward Andrei Kuzmenko scored his 50th SKA goal in his 181st competitive appearance for our team. He is the 16th SKA player to score a minimum of 50 markers in the KHL. Interestingly, well-known former SKA forward Tony Martensson also required 181 games to score 50 goals for our organisation.
This marked the first of six Gagarin Cup matches for goalkeeper Alexander Samonov as a SKA player which ended in a defeat. Alexander became the fourth SKA goaltender to record five successive victories in his five maiden KHL playoff games, following in the footsteps of Jakub Stepanek, Alexander Salak and Magnus Hellberg.
Veteran Dinamo Minsk forward Denis Mosalyov became the 12th player in the KHL to tally a minimum of 20 (12+8) points against SKA in the league. This was his first winning goal against SKA since scoring in overtime for Dynamo Moscow on 28 March 2012 in game one of the Gagarin Cup playoffs third round.
