In a tense encounter, SKA eventually proved too strong for HC Dynamo Moscow in the Russian capital, earning a thrilling 3:2 victory in a nervy penalty shootout.
Evgeny Ketov scored the only shootout goal, while goalkeeper Alexander Samonov stopped all five shots he faced.
Initially, Dynamo did take the lead in the first period, but SKA recovered in the second with Dmitry Kagarlitsky scoring on the man advantage. Nail Yakupuv scored another powerplay goal for SKA in the third period.
Nevertheless, Dynamo did equalise in the third frame, however SKA weren't to be denied the two points.
SKA have now won 11 games in a row in the 2019/2020 KHL regular season.
