This was the 150th occasion when Dinamo Riga and SKA competed against each other in the national championship. So far, SKA have claimed 73 victories, while 17 matches ended in a draw and 60 meetings finished with the Latvian club emerging victorious. The goal difference is 498-463 in SKA's favour. Interestingly, the first game between these two clubs took place on 10 December 1953 in Chelyabinsk, with our players earning a 3:1 win.
Swedish goalkeeper Magnus Hellberg earned his 55th victory as a SKA player in the KHL, trailing only Igor Shestyorkin (87 wins in 124 games) and Mikko Koskinen (111 wins in 181 games). Magnus has so far made 84 competitive appearances for SKA. Furthermore, in four matches against Dinamo Riga for our team, he has tallied four victories, one shutout and only three conceded goals across those particular games.
Defenseman Dinar Khafizullin dished out his 80th assist as a SKA player. He is the third defenseman to register a minimum of 80 assists for SKA, with only Anton Belov (82) and Dmitry Kalinin (84) above him in the ranking. He has made assists against 23 different opponents. His personal best was three assists in one match against Dinamo Minsk as SKA won 5:1 in Saint Petersburg on 22 January 2019.
Dinamo Riga goalkeeper Ilya Proskuryakov has now played against SKA in the KHL for six separate teams.
