Fans can now begin voting for participants of the 2022 KHL All-Star Game, which will take place in Chelyabinsk, Russia on the 15th and 16th of January online at the following link.
Instead of players representing their divisions, fans are asked to select one goalkeeper, one defenseman and two forwards for each of the four geographical regions. Team Russia, not surprisingly, will be comprised exclusively of Russian players, Team North America brings together the Canadian and American imports, Team Scandinavia will feature players from Denmark, Sweden and Finland, while all other nations featured in the KHL – from France to China – will join Team Eurasia.
The schedule for the All-Star Weekend is changing as well. On the Saturday, the first part of the Skill Show will be interspersed with the semi-final games in that 3-on-3 tournament. The following day will bring the culmination of both contests: the remaining Skill Show events and the medal games in the tournament. Over the course of the weekend, we’ll learn who is the fastest skater in the KHL, who has the hardest shot, whose penalty shot can capture the imagination and much more.
Each fan can vote just once. To place a vote, just follow these simple steps:
- Log in via one of your social media accounts.
- On the jce hockey rink, simply start typing the name of your chosen player under the silhouette for the appropriate position.
- A drop-down menu will appear, enabling you to quickly pick your chosen player. You can fill one vacancy, or all of them, or anything in between. When you have made your choice, click the “Vote” button at the bottom of the form.
Your vote will be counted and added to the overall tally, which is updated hourly.
The fan vote runs until November 21, after which accredited media representatives for the 2021/2022 KHL season will make their choice. The remaining spots will be filled by the KHL. Each team will have two goalkeepers, nine skaters and two coaches. The final rosters will be unveiled on December 14.
