Evgeny KetovContractsContract extensions
HC SKA press-service

- Evgeny, you have extended your SKA contract for a further two years. How did the negotiations go?

- The negotiations were quick, because I really wanted to stay. I am happy that SKA count on me, and I want to continue helping the team.

- You have made the most amount of KHL appearances for SKA. Does this club and Saint Petersburg feel like home to you?

- Yes, I have been a SKA player for seven seasons, and Saint Petersburg feels like my home, especially the club. I want to say thank you to the fans for the fantastic support, it's great that the Ice Palace is always full.

- Share your feelings about the 2019/2020 campaign which didn't finish.

- It was really disappointing not to finish the playoffs, because we were in excellent form. I wanted to see who was the strongest club. However, I have also heard that the season could still be finished, that would be the correct thing to do.

- This is a difficult time because of the coronavirus pandemic. How are you spending self-isolation?

- We're bringing up our children. I am helping my middle son train who is a member of SKA Army-2012, we're receiving a training program online and we do it together.

- Yesterday marked the fifth anniversary of the historic 2015 KHL Gagarin Cup playoffs victory against CSKA Moscow. What are your memories from that series?

- Of course, I remember that series really well, but unfortunately I couldn't complete it because of a rib fracture. Nevertheless, I remember how nervous I was watching from the sidelines. It's even harder when you can't help the team on the ice.

- What are your short-term plans?

- Now we need to rest and train, both physically and psychologically.
