- Why was this such a difficult game?

- We had five days without any games, and we had lost confidence after recent results. It's good that we managed to turn the match around, although it must be said that we were lucky with the two goals which we scored.

- This is your first SKA goal.

- We kept them deep in their zone during that particular shift, and I expected them to become tired in defence. As a result, I decided to skate to the slot, and the puck fell to my stick. One of my former coaches said that those goals change games.

- It was a typical North American goal. Were you using your NHL experience to good effect there?

- Toronto and the NHL weren't involved with that goal.

- The young players made things happen for SKA with their energy and adrenaline.

- They had fantastic movement today, especially in the attacking zone. They knew that we needed to get the puck on the slot and force it over the line. They did the same at the World Junior Championship recently.

- Did you feel that they were nervous?

- No, I really enjoyed competing with them on the ice. They made combination plays and crashed the net.

- Just like in the recent KHL match against Spartak Moscow, SKA created a lot of opportunities, but the finishing touch was lacking?

- Ever since 2020 has started, we have been struggling to score goals. We're lacking confidence. Victories like this one will help.
