Between the 23rd and 24th of November, the Russian Ice Hockey Federation will hold a yearly conference concerning the specialities of the training process with young ice hockey players.
Representatives of the Russian Ministry of Sports, the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, inter-regional ice hockey coordinational centres, children's ice hockey schools, schools for ice hockey theory and foreign specialists will all attend the event.
The speakers will be RIHF vice-president Boris Mikhailov, Russia U16 head coach Sergei Golubovich, Russia U17 head coach Vladimir Filatov and Denmark U20 head coach Olaf Elller.
At this conference, the matter of training young ice hockey players at the start of their careers will be the conference's main topic. The main audience are ice hockey coaches and teachers.
Main topics at the conference:
1. Features of long-term ice hockey coaching and working with initial training groups.
2. Regulatory and organisational aspects of working in children's ice hockey schools.
3. Training ice hockey coaches.
Alongside the theory part of the conference, Russian and foreign specialists will be demonstrated training methods on the ice with the use of modern coaching techniques. This will take place at the VTB Ice Palace's training arena.
