This became Kunlun Red Star's heaviest KHL defeat. Before Saturday's match, Kunlun's worst loss in the KHL was a 2:8 setback to Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the 2016/2017 Gagarin Cup playoffs.

Ilya Kovalchuk's first goal was his 600th at club level. 428 of them came in 848 NHL fixtures, 27 for Ak Bars and Khimik in 68 Russian championship fixtures, and 147 in 332 SKA appearances. Ilya is only the third Russian player after Alexander Ovechkin and Sergei Fyodorov to reach this landmark. However, he is the only one to score more than a 100 goals both in North America and Russia.

In 400 Russian championship matches, Ilya Kovalchuk owns 392 points (174+218). 336 of them have come for SKA (147+189). He also scored his seventh SKA hat trick, now only trailing Belyai Bekyashev (13) in the list of players who have scored three goals in one SKA game.

SKA's number 17 has goals in games with all 31 KHL teams which he has played against for the club. He is the only SKA player to achieve this.

Last year, Evgeny Dadonov also scored a hat trick against Kunlun Red Star.

Mikko Koskinen is the first SKA goaltender in the KHL to play against 29 clubs which he has had the chance to play with. Mikko has beaten 26 of these teams.

Sergei Plotnikov has 50 KHL regular season points (18+32) in 80 matches.

Vladislav Gavrikov scored his first SKA goal in his 31st match.
