In the fourth match of the 2018/2019 KHL Gagarin Cup second round, SKA defeated HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl 3:1 on the road, in turn taking a 3:1 series lead.
In the opening period of play, Roman Rukavishnikov's effort from distance caught Lokomotiv goaltender Ilya Konovalov cold, and until the 52nd minute, that was the only goal of the match.
However, with eight minutes remaining, David Rundblad struck gold on the powerplay, before Maxim Karpov promptly increased the lead to 3:0.
In the dying moments, Lokomotiv did get on the board, but that didn't prevent SKA from claiming a potentially vital 3:1 triumph in Yaroslavl!
The series now moves back to Saint Petersburg, where game four will take place at the Ic Palace at 19.30 local time on Thursday.
