Before the SKA - Dynamo Moscow KHL match on the 8th of December, a special commerative ceremony in honour of the club's 70th anniversary took place. Maxim Sokolov, a player who came through the SKA system before winning a number of awards, was inducted into SKA's Hall of Fame.

Maxim commented on this event:

- When I was young, playing ice hockey in my local yard, I dreamt of playing for SKA and the national team. Those dreams came true, however I never imagined that my jersey would be lifted to the top of this wonderful arena. It's a big honour for me. A big thanks go to the club's board for choosing me. I could never have achieved what I have in my career without the support of my parents, wife and children. I would also like to thank my friends, teammates and doctors - everyone who helped and continue to help SKA win. Of course, my success wouldn't have been possible without the great Saint Petersburg support. When you hear them cheering for the team, you want to fight for the victory in every game in honour of your hometown. Thanks to everyone!
