SKA - Ak Bars. Before the match
Today, at 19.30 local time, SKA will host Ak Bars Kazan at the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace in the 2021/2022 KHL regular season.
This will be the second match between these teams in the current campaign. In late December, our players earned a pulsating 4:3 overtime triumph in the capital of Tatarstan, as Nikita Gusev tallied the winning marker after Andrei Kuzmenko, Anton Burdasov and Mat Robinson had scored during regulation time. Solid goalkeeper Dmitry Nikolaev stopped 27 of the 30 Ak Bars shots he faced.
Ak Bars are currently sitting in third spot of the Eastern Conference with 64 points from 47 games. Last Friday, Dmitry Kvartalnov's troops conceded a surprise 2:4 defeat to Admiral Vladivostok on the road after previously beating Metallurg Magnitogorsk (home, 4:3 OT), Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg (away, 5:1), Sibir Novosibirsk (away, 6:2) and Amur Khabarovsk (away, 2:1 SO).
SKA - in first of the Western Conference with 66 points from 46 matches - are enjoying a three-game winning streak after seeing off the challenges of Admiral (away, 3:1), Kunlun Red Star Beijing (away, 5:1) and Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod (home, 3:0).
Match TV and Channel 78 (Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region only) will provide a television broadcast in Russia, whereas you can watch a live video on the KHL's official website worldwide. Text updates will be available on our Twitter account.
