This season, SKA and Dynamo Moscow have met on three previous occasions, with our team emerging victorious every time:
19.09.2019. Dynamo Moscow - SKA - 0:2 (Rundblad 22:58, Karpov 37:35)
28.09.2019. SKA - Dynamo Moscow - 4:1 (Lehtera 14:20, 56:07, Ketov 22:23, Plotnikov 08:23; Petersson 33:32)

Unlike SKA, Dynamo Moscow have made a positive start to 2020, defeating Kunlun Red Star (2:0), Spartak Moscow (3:0), Amur (4:2) and Salavat Yulaev Ufa (4:3), while conceding the one defeat to reigning KHL champions CSKA Moscow (1:4). Playing with confidence, Vladimir Krikunov's troops have risen to second position of the Western Conference with 64 points from 48 games, but it must be noted that fourth-placed SKA do have two matches in hand. SKA will overtake Dynamo Moscow with a victory in Saint Petersburg today.
SKA have started the new calendar year with two disappointing losses to Jokerit (0:6) and Spartak Moscow (1:3) and the one victory against Dinamo Minsk (4:1). All three of the games in question were played on the road. Jokerit, in joint third spot of the Western Conference, are tied on 63 points with SKA.
