Today, SKA will compete in the first match of this particular road trip against Sibir Novosibirsk in the 2021/2022 KHL regular season.
This will be the second game between these two teams in the current campaign. On November 19, SKA came up short at the Saint Petersburg, conceding a narrow 1:2 defeat at home by conceded two third-period goals. Andrei Kuzmenko had initially opened the scoring in the eighth minute of play.
SKA are currently leading the Western Conference with 58 points on the board. For their part, Sibir are in sixth spot of the Eastern Conference, boasting a nine-point advantage over Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg who are in ninth position.
Sibir are coming off the back of two successive victories against Kunlun Red Star Beijing (3:2 OT) and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (2:1 OT) on home ice in Novosibirsk.
