For the first time, SKA haven't conceded shorthanded in the maiden five matches of a KHL regular season. The previous record had been set in the 2017/2018 campaign, when SKA did not concede a single goal on the penalty kill in the opening four games. So far, our players have successfully coped with 21 consecutive penalties.

Alexander Nikishin is the second defenseman in club history to tally points in the first four matches of a particular season. In the 2015/2016 season, Maxim Chudinov had achieved the same feat with four (3+1) points. Nikishin picked up six (1+5) points in the first four games this year.

Fellow defenseman Stepan Falkovsky made his 50th appearance for SKA in the KHL. So far, he has registered 12 (3+9) points.

Defenseman Mikhail Pashnin dished out his first KHL assist for SKA in his fourth game.

Dmitry Nikolaev became the 15th SKA goalkeeper to register an assist in the KHL. It took him nine matches to make an assist in the league.

Forward Maxim Groshev scored his first shorthanded goal in 81 KHL games. Interestingly, before this match, SKA's most recent shorthanded marker in the championship had also been netted against Severstal in Cherepovets (2 September 2021).
