In Saint Petersburg, SKA quickly got back in top form following the recent international break, defeating HC Amur Khabarovsk 3:2 at the Ice Palace.
Initially, Ondrej Vitasek handed Amur the lead in the first period, but Alexander Barabanov and Vasily Tokranov promptly scored two wonderful goals in the second stanza.
However, later on, with only five minutes remaining in regulation time, Denis Golubev got Amur level.
Nevertheless, moments later, Evgeny Ketov hit the target with a superb attempt to secure a thrilling 3:2 triumph!
SKA will next play in the KHL regular season when hosting Admiral Vladivostok on February 13.
