For the first time in seven years, SKA lost to Dinamo Minsk in Saint Petersburg. The previous defeat came on September 27, 2011 when our team dropped a 3:4 defeat on penalty shots. During nine KHL seasons, Dinamo have beaten SKA in a shootout on three occasions.
Defenseman Danila Galenyuk became SKA's youngest ever player in the KHL. Yesterday, he was 17 years, 10 months and 8 days old. The previous record was held by Dmitry Yudin, who was 18 years, 1 month and 8 days old when making his senior SKA debut. However, taking into account all Russian championships, three SKA players made their first appearences when only 16 years of age.
In the 2017/2018 season, Ilya Kovalchuk became the first KHL player to reach the 50 point mark. It has only taken Ilya 41 matches to achieve this. Nevertheless, his personal record was set last season, when he picked up 50 points in 41 games.
The club record belongs to Vadim Shipachyov. In the 2016/2017 campaign, Vadim required only 33 matches to take 50 points.
Ilya Kovalchuk now has 180 Russian championship goals. 153 of them have been for SKA.
Nikita Gusev has participated in 350 KHL matches, registering 271 (108+163) points. 189 (65+124) have come in 164 SKA appearances.
