In the 2018/2019 KHL regular season, SKA faced off against HC Dynamo Moscow at the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace, claiming an exciting 3:2 triumph.

Despite coming into the match as heavy favourites, the home side fell behind within two minutes, as Evgeny Mozer caught Swedish goalkeeper Magnus Hellberg sleeping from the left faceoff circle. Nevertheless, midway through the opening frame, Nikita Gusev cleverly backhanded between the Alexander Yeryomenko's pads to make it 1:1.

Pushing for a second marker, SKA finally took the lead early in the second period, with Alexander Dergachyov pushing the loose puck over the line. Patrik Hersley then doubled SKA's money, launching an unstoppable one timer into the net when on the powerplay.

Dmitry Moiseev got one back for Dynamo, but thanks to solid defending, the team held on to win 3:2!
