SKA Hockey Club and the Russian Red Cross have signed a cooperation agreement. The partnership implies joint development and implementation of charitable programs and actions aimed at improving the social status of the population, as well as providing support to vulnerable people. SKA will also help popularize the charitable activities of the Red Cross and the public "I am Your Donor" movement.
In accordance with the agreement, part of the proceeds from the sales of pre-match programs for SKA's home games will be donated to charity events of the Russian Red Cross. Therefore, every fan who buys the program will not only be aware of the latest ice hockey events, but will also make a personal contribution to the organisation's charitable activities. Also, the Russian Red Cross will have the opportunity to hold promotions at SKA's home matches at the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace.
During the 2020/2021 KHL regular season, SKA played with the “Thank You Doctors. Your Work is Our Life" badges on the jerseys, marking the efforts undertaken by medical workers during the pandemic. SKA also allocated funds for the purchase of equipment for children's city hospitals, helped social institutions and volunteer centres.
The Russian Red Cross is the oldest charitable humanitarian organisation in Russia, founded in 1867 by Emperor Alexander II, and is an integral part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The Russian Red Cross is actively implementing humanitarian programs and projects for the benefit of the citizens of our country. Important areas of work of the Russian Red Cross contain providing assistance to the most vulnerable categories of citizens during disasters and emergencies, promoting the foundations of a healthy lifestyle and developing free donation of blood.
