20 consecutive league victories has become a new KHL record set by SKA. Despite this loss to HC Sochi, SKA still picked up a point and are yet to lose in regulation time.

Taking into account the 2016/2017 KHL championship, SKA won 22 successive regular season matches. The run stretched between February 16th and October 9th.

Before this defeat to Sochi, SKA's last KHL regular season loss was against Spartak Moscow 2:4 in Saint Petersburg on February 14th.

After 3 on 3 overtime was introduced to the KHL, SKA have competed in eight extra frames. Five of them ended in draws, SKA won two, but yesterday was the first 3 on 3 overtime defeat.

In his 330th KHL match, Nikita Gusev picked up his 150th assist. 111 of those assists have come in 144 SKA appearances.

This is the first time when Sergei Plotnikov has scored for SKA in three consecutive games.

In the 2013/2014 season, goalkeeper Dmitry Shikin played three matches for SKA's main team before transferring to Atlant and HC Sochi. This was the first time when he played the full 60 minutes against SKA in the KHL.
