Game five. SKA - Lokomotiv - 5:4 OT
In Saint Petersburg, SKA were taken to overtime in game five of the KHL Gagarin Cup playoffs second round series by HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, but our players eventually won 5:4 to advance to the Western Conference final.
After Denis Alexeev had opened the scoring in the opening, five goals were netted in the second, with four of them going to SKA's Nikita Gusev (2), Artyom Zub and Alexei Byvaltsev. Lokomotiv replied with a marker from Stepan Sannikov.
SKA were seemingly in control, but in a sharp turn of events, Daniil Apalkov and Rushan Rafikov took the game to overtime.
Nevertheless, SKA got the job done, as defenseman Dinar Khafizullin struck gold to send the Saint Petersburg club through at the expense of Lokomotiv.
