The fourth goal scored by Valentin Zykov marked SKA's 100th in the 2022/2023 KHL campaign. It took our team 27 matches to score 100 goals. Furthermore, no other club in the league has yet scored 100 markers this season.
Interestingly, Zykov's goal was also the 100th which SKA have scored against Magnitogorsk in 36 KHL games.
For the first time in 508 KHL home matches, a defenseman - Alexander Nikishin - scored two goals during the first period.
Forward Mikhail Vorobyov has now dished out 51 assists in 195 KHL games. 17 were tallied in 111 matches for Salavat Yulaev Ufa and 34 in 84 SKA appearances. It's also worth pointing out that boasting 21 (7+14) points, Vorobyov has set a personal best concerning the amount of points tallied in one regular season. His previous record of 19 (6+13) was set last season.
This was only the second time in KHL history when a first period of a match in Saint Petersburg involving SKA ended level at 3:3. The last time when this occurred was on 10 September 2012 against Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk. Moreover, this was first occasion in a home KHL regular season game when SKA both scored and conceded during the last minute of the opening frame.
Vasily Koshechkin is the third goaltender in the KHL to concede a minimum of 50 goals for one particular club against SKA, following in the footsteps of Alexander Yeryomenko (Dynamo Moscow) and Ilya Sorokin (CSKA Moscow).
