For the first time in the KHL, SKA didn't concede a single goal at home against Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. It took our team 13 matches to achieve this. However, when Neftekhimik have hosted SKA in Nizhnekamsk, our players tallied four shutouts in 13 games.
Defenseman Mat Robinson became the 13th Canadian to play for SKA. Moreover, at the age of 35 years, three months and 13 days, Mat is the second oldest defenseman to make his SKA debut, only trailing Sergei Zubov (39 years, one month, 21 days).
Forward Kirill Marchenko is the first SKA player to clinch a KHL match for our organisation with the opening and winning goal having been scored with a penalty shot.
Neftekhimik became the third KHL team to concede two penalty shots during regulation against SKA, following in the footsteps of Dynamo Moscow and Slovan Bratislava. Previously, Evgeny Artyukhin had scored a penalty shot for SKA against Neftekhimik on 18 February 2011.
