SKA Hockey Club have signed a contract with forward Damir Zhafyarov. The agreement runs for two seasons until 30 April 2024.

Damir Zhafyarov was born on 17 March 1994 in Moscow, Russia. He stands 175 centimeters tall, weighs 78 kilograms and shoots with his left arm. He played for the Pingviny and Rus junior teams. In 2011, Damir played for the youth Spartak Moscow team. He was the 58th pick in the third round of the 2011 KHL Draft by Metallurg Novokuznetsk. In 2012, he represented Team East in the MHL Future Cup. He made his debut for Novokuznetsk in the 2012/2013 campaign, scoring his maiden KHL goal on 8 September 2012 against Atlant Mytishchi. Damir became a CSKA player in July 2014, before subsequently playing for Sibir Novosibirsk, Admiral Vladivostok and lastly Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, who he joined in 2018. He is a bronze medalist of the 2014 World Junior Championship and a 2015 Russian champion. In the 2021/2022 KHL season, Damir tallied 45 (18+27) points in 47 appearances, making him one of the top five scorers of the regular season. Overall, he has registered 258 (111+147) points in 514 KHL games.
