SKA Hockey Club and HC Sochi have agreed on a trade. Sochi receive the rights to Swedish forward Oskar Steen, while SKA receive the rights to goalkeeper Mikhail Berdin. The goaltender, who has recently returned from North America, will shortly sign a contract with SKA which will run until the end of the 2020/2021 season.
Mikhail Berdin, a goalkeeper, was born on 1 March 1998 in Ufa, Bashkortostan, Russia. He stands 188 centimeters tall and weighs 74 kilograms. In the MHL, Mikhail represented Almaz Cherepovets, before he subsequently made the move to North America ahead of the 2016/2017 campaign. He was a silver medalist and the best goalkeeper of the 2015 World Challenge Cup. Last season, Mikhail played for the Winnipeg Jets system, making 42 appearances in the AHL and registering a save percentage of 91.0% and a goals against average of 2.89.
