At the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace, SKA eased past HC Sibir Novosibirsk, earning a routine 5:0 victory in the 2018/2019 KHL season. Unlike the previous match, Swedish goaltender Magnus Hellberg was standing between the pipes, while Alexei Krasikov was the starting goalkeeper for Sibir.
Dominant from the start, SKA piled the pressure on a stuggling Sibir team which is incredibly yet to taste the winning feeling this campaign, scoring after 12 minutes as Alexei Kruchinin lashed the puck over the goalkeeper's body from the doorstep. In the second period, fellow forward Sergei Plotnikov doubled the advantage, thumping a one timer in on the left faceoff circle.
In a rampant third frame, Maxim Karpov completed a flowing move on the powerplay, before Sibir goalkeeper Alexei Krasikov conceded two soft markers from Nikolai Prokhorkin and Dinar Khafizullin to see SKA through to a heavy 5:0 victory!
