SKA conceded a bitter 2:3 defeat to HC Spartak Moscow in overtime in the 2019/2020 KHL regular season at the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace.
In the first period, Dmitry Vishnevsky and Robin Hanzl gifted Spartak a two-goal lead, but SKA responded in the second as Anton Burdasov scored his maiden marker for our club after returning.
Vladimir Tkachyov lashed in the equaliser at the start of the third frame.
Despite dominating proceedings, SKA couldn't find that all-important winner, and Martins Karsums snatched a victory for Spartak in overtime.
SKA will aim to get back to winning ways against Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg on October 10.
