In Saint Petersburg, SKA tallied yet another 6:0 triumph in the 2018/2019 KHL regular season, with HC Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod today's victims.
During the opening period, Torpedo managed to keep the game tight, but SKA blew proceedings wide open in the second. At point blank range, defenseman Dinar Khafizullin broke the deadlock, before Nikita Gusev finished a flowing move and Andrei Kuzmenko tapped Alexander Barabanov's pass into the gaping right corner. 3:0 after 40 minutes.
In the mood for more, SKA continued piling the pressure on a tiring Torpedo side, increasing the lead to six with Maxim Karpov, Jarno Koskiranta and Alexei Byvaltsev all hitting the jackpot! Goalkeeper Igor Shestyorkin stopped 24 Torpedo shots to earn a well deserved shutout.
