This was the 200th competitive match between SKA and Torpedo. 17 of those games ended in a draw, with SKA earning 97 wins and the Nizhny Novgorod-based organisation claiming 86 victories. The goal difference is 671-644 in SKA's favour.

40 of those 200 games have been contested in the KHL, with SKA emerging victorious in 25 of them.

Forward Nikolai Prokhorkin tallied his maiden goal of the campaign. Interestingly, 30 different players have now scored a minimum of one marker for SKA in the current KHL season.

For the first time as a SKA player, forward Dmitrij Jaskin scored in overtime. The 29-year-old now boasts 10 winning markers so far this season (eight in the regular season, two in the Gagarin Cup playoffs). In the past, only Ilya Kovalchuk and Artemiy Panarin managed to register 10 winning goals for SKA throughout one single KHL campaign (both in the 2014/2015 season).

Furthermore, Jaskin became the first SKA player in the KHL to score against Torpedo in five successive matches.

Only Evgeny Ketov (96), Ilya Kablukov (96) and Dinar Khafizullin (103) have participated in more Gagarin Cup playoff games than forward Nikita Gusev (89).
