SKA - Torpedo. Facts of game two

This was SKA's 100th home game in the history of the KHL Gagarin Cup playoffs. So far, SKA have earned 66 wins with a positive goal difference of 295-200. Only Metallurg Magnitogorsk and Ak Bars Kazan have also played in a minimum of 100 home matches in the Gagarin Cup playoffs.

Forward Nikita Gusev has now scored 39 winning goals for SKA in the KHL, more than any other player. 30 of them have been registered in regulation time, five in overtime and four in penalty shootouts. Furthermore, 17 of his game-winners have been tallied in the playoffs, a club record.

In 70 competitive appearances for SKA since joining our club last summer, fellow forward Damir Zhafyarov has picked up 50 (16+34) points. Interestingly, he is the fourth player to gain at least 50 points during his debut season for SKA this year, following in the footsteps of Marat Khairullin, Dmitrij Jaskin and Alexander Nikishin.

For Zhafyarov personally, this is the second KHL campaign in which he has recorded 50 points. The first was in the 2020/2021 season for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod when he gained 62 (21+41) points.

Defenseman Nikita Kamalov scored in a Gagarin Cup playoff game for the first time. Moreover, this was the maiden occasion when he registered a goal and an assist in one game for SKA.
