In Saint Petersburg, SKA picked up a vital victory against HC CSKA Moscow in the 2018/2019 KHL Western Conference final, tallying a 3:1 win to equalise the series at 2:2.
CSKA took the lead through Mikhail Naumenkov in the opening frame. However, instead of caving in, SKA responded with an equaliser from Nikolai Prokhorkin in the second.
The match was always going to be decided in the third frame, and to our relief, it went SKA's way.
On the powerplay, Nikita Gusev struck gold from the left faceoff circle, before Sergei Plotnikov managed to beat CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin from a tight angle at equal strength.
Game five will take place on Friday in Moscow.
