Despite the usual ten-day international break in December, SKA generally play eight matches during the month. Mikko Koskinen has won 12 out of 23 December matches for SKA, including two shutouts. In 2015, Igor Shestyorkin helped the team earn three victories in as many games. The overall record belongs to Sergei Bobrovsky, who took six triumphs in seven December matches in 2012.
Dmitry Kalinin is still SKA's top December scorer among defensemen, recording 14 (5+9) points in 36 matches. Andrei Kuteikin also boasts five goals.
Sergei Zubov (1+5), Dmitry Kalinin (2+4) and Kevin Dallman (3+3) all took six December points in various seasons.
Ilya Kovalchuk owns an impressive total of 42 (16+26) points in just 45 December matches. Vadim Shipachyov has 41 (15+26), but he has only competed in 36 games in this particular month. Nikita Gusev is on 28 (11+17) December points from a mere 23 appearances.
In 2015, Vadim Shipachyov had 14 (4+10) points from eight matches.
