Looking back in history, SKA have always played the majority of January's matches at home in Saint Petersburg. In the KHL, our team have earned 33 victories in 54 games at the Ice Palace, outscoring the opponents 197-108.

In January 2018, SKA took 22 points out of a possible 24, a new club record. The only defeat came against Dynamo Moscow in overtime. Only ten goals were conceded in those games, another personal best for SKA. However, the record for goals scored (51) was set in the 2016/2017 campaign.

At home in January this year, our players had a positive goal difference of 23-8 and earned 88.8% of points on offer.

SKA's best January record on the road came in 2010, when the team won all away matches in regulation time. This year, SKA repeated that feat.

The club's worst January was in 2016. In away matches, SKA only won the one match while losing three others. 25% of possible points were taken.

This January, SKA on average conceded a minimum of two goals a game.

In 27 matches during January, Finn Mikko Koskinen boasts 15 victories, a club record. Ilay Ezhov is second with 13 wins in 18 appearances. In 2010, Robert Esche won all seven January matches in which he played between the pipes. In four consecutive seasons, Mikko Koskinen has taken one shutout in January.


Dmitry Kalinin is SKA's top scorer in January among defensemen with 21 (8+13) points in 44 matches. In 2010, Sergei Zubov took a record 10 (3+7) points in as many matches.


Holding 59 (18+41) points in 51 January matches, Vadim Shipachyov is the club's leading scorer in this month. Ilya Kovalchuk isn't far behind with 51 (16+35) points from 54 games. Last year, Vadim took 19 (7+12) points in just 11 January games, a SKA record.
