In the second match of the KHL Gagarin Cup playoffs first round, SKA held off the challenge of Vityaz Podolsk, emerging victorious 4:3 at the Saint Petersburg to take a 2:0 series lead.

Initially, after conceding the first goal during the opening period of play, SKA burst into life during the second frame with Sergei Plotnikov, Evgeny Ketov, Vasily Podkolzin and Joonas Kemppainen striking gold.

In the third, Vityaz did score two markers of their own, however SKA held on.

The series now moves to Podolsk, Moscow Region with SKA leading 2:0. Four victories are required to qualify for the next phase.
