In the concluding game of the 2020 Sochi Hockey Open, SKA conceded a second defeat to HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, losing by a score of 2:3.
Two successive goals from Linden Vey and Anton Burdasov gave SKA a 2:1 advantage with 17 minutes remaining. However, Lokomotiv subsequently dealt our team an unwanted shock, snatching a 3:2 win with late markers from Vladimir Tkachyov and Alexander Darin.
Despite the end of the tournament, SKA will continue to remain in Sochi as the players prepare for the upcoming 2020/2021 KHL season. The first match of the regular season will be held on September 4 against Neftekhimik in Nizhnekamsk.
