Following a defeat to Dynamo Moscow at home on Monday, SKA managed to get back to winning ways in the 2020/2021 KHL regular season today, comfortably seeing off the challenge of HC Sochi by a score of 4:1 on the road.
Initially, Sochi did take the lead in the first period as Jere Karjalainen scored on a two-man advantage, but SKA subsequently got back on track in the second.
Connecting with a superb pass from Anton Burdasov, Viktor Antipin successfully diverted the puck into the net, before Lukas Bengtsson hit the jackpot on the powerplay to put SKA in the box seat.
Kirill Marchenko and Joonas Kemppainen - also on the powerplay - netted further goals in the third frame to secure the victory! Swedish goalkeeper Magnus Hellberg pulled off 29 saves to ensure that our team tallied the win.
SKA will now prepare to face CSKA in Moscow on Friday. Puck drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
