In 17 KHL matches against Sochi, SKA have now scored 50 goals. Forwards Nikita Gusev and Andrei Kuzmenko are our top scorers against these particular opponents, having tallied five goals each. Furthermore, they have both dished out five assists against Sochi in competitive games.
Goaltender Lars Johansson earned his second consecutive shutout for SKA. This is the sixth time when SKA goalkeepers have earned two shutouts in a row on the road, and the 15th occasion when our goaltnders have tallied two clean sheets on the bounce in the KHL.
During each of his four seasons with CSKA Moscow, Lars always went without conceding a single goal throughout 180 successive minutes. His record streak without letting a goal in is 188 minutes and 49 seconds (2018/2019 KHL season). He has picked up four shutouts against Spartak Moscow, Sochi and SKA.
For the eighth time in the club's history, SKA defeated a KHL opponent 2:0 with one player scoring both goals. Interestingly, forward Joonas Kemppainen is the first for SKA to do this on two occasions, with the experienced Finn having netted two markers in the 2:0 triumph at home over Severstal Cherepovets on 24 December 2020.
Magnus Hellberg became the first goalkeeper to play for both teams in KHL games between SKA and Sochi. Overall, in three KHL matches against SKA, Magnus has conceded 13 goals and suffered three losses.
