In Nizhny Novgorod, SKA got back to winning ways in the 2020/2021 KHL campaign, defeating HC Torpedo 6:4 in a pulsating match.
Initially, Vasily Tokranov's opener was cancelled out by Anton Shenfeld, but SKA subsequently put themselves in the box seat with superb goals from Andrei Kuzmenko, Tokranov (again) and Viktor Antipin in the second period.
Vasily Tokranov tipped the puck home in the 43rd minute to seemingly put the game out of sight.
However, Torpedo had other ideas, suddenly reducing the deficit to just the one goal with three successive markers. Nevertheless, to our relief, Anton Burdasov registered a fantastic goal in the concluding minutes to secure the victory.
SKA will now prepare to host HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl at the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace on Friday. Puck drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
