SKA claimed one of the most important victories of the 2019/2020 KHL regular season to date, defeating HC CSKA Moscow 4:2 in the Russian capital with an excellent performance.
Alexander Barabanov and Anton Belov twice equalised for SKA after CSKA took the lead on two occasions.
The key moment arrived with just over a minute remaining in the third period.
Overtime was seemingly looming, but Alexander Barabanov had other ideas, unleashing an unexpected low wrister which caught Ilya Sorokin cold. Alexander then subsequently sealed the deal with an empty netter, his third of the day.
SKA have now claimed nine consecutive victories.
