Defenseman Dinar Khafizullin competed in his 391st competitive match for SKA. Only forwards Ilya Kablukov (396) and Evgeny Ketov (475) have participated in more KHL games for our club.

Fellow defenseman Viktor Antipin made his 100th KHL Gagarin Cup playoff appearance. He has picked up 41 (17+24) points across those matches.

Across 161 Gagarin Cup playoff matches, SKA have failed to score a goal on only 10 occasions, with six of those games having been played against CSKA. The remaining four were matches against Dinamo Riga, Dynamo Moscow, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and Spartak Moscow.

CSKA goalkeeper Lars Johansson hasn't conceded a goal against SKA in the playoffs for a grand total of 235 minutes and 36 seconds. That is a new record for goaltenders against our club in the KHL post-season.

This is the third time when SKA have lost the first game of a Gagarin Cup playoff series against CSKA by a score of 0:3. The same score had been witnessed in the opening matches of the series in 2015 (SKA went on to progress 4-3) and 2016 (CSKA went on to progress 4-0).
