On August 25, a new judo school named SKA Turbo opened at Hockey City. This is a joint project between SKA Hockey City and Turbostroitel which is a judo club in Saint Petersburg. The first training sessions will take place at the Hockey City complex on September 3. Overall advantages of judo for children include the development of coordination and reaction skills, discipline, health and self-defence.
The Turbostroitel Judo Club was opened in 1969 by honoured Russian coach Anatoly Rakhlin and is one of the city's oldest sporting organisations. A number of winners fo Russian and international competitions have emerged from the club.
