A Day of Sport, Games and Entertainment for Children with Down's Syndrome at Hockey City
On June 4, in accordance with International Children's Day, the "Day of Sport, Games and Entertainment for Children with Down's Syndrome" took place at the Hockey City complex in Saint Petersburg.
The main goal of the event was to show that children with Down's Syndrome really are no different than anyone else - they have the same desire to play, communicate, move and learn new things.
With the help of volunteers from the Lesgaft University, the children participated in sporting games and competitions. Various master classes, games and art classes were organised.
The event was opened by Andrei Tochitsky, the executive director of SKA Hockey Club. The guests of honour were legendary FC Zenit Saint Petersburg goalkeeper Vyacheslav Malafeev and MHL Kharlamov Cup champion as a forward of SKA-1946 Dmitry Buchelnikov.
