Valentin Zykov is a SKA player!

SKA Hockey Club and HC Sibir Novosibirsk have agreed on a trade. Forwards Vladislav Kamenev and Yegor Spiridonov are joining Sibir, while SKA have received the rights to fellow forward Valentin Zykov. The World Junior Championship bronze medalist will sign a contract with SKA until the completion of the 2021/2022 campaign.

Valentin will wear the number 90 on his jersey.

HC SKA thanks Vladislav and Yegor for their efforts in Saint Petersburg, while welcoming Valentin to our organisation!

Valentin Zykov is a forward born on 15 May 1995 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He stands 183 centimeters tall and weighs 95 kilograms. Initially, he played for the CSKA system in the MHL, before moving to North America after the 2011/2012 season. For the first three years there, he competed for Baie-Comeau Drakkar and the Gatineau Olympiques in the QMJHL. After that, Valentin was on the books of the Ontario Reign (AHL), the Charlotte Checkers (AHL), the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL), the Edmonton Oilers (NHL), the Vegas Golden Knights (NHL) and the Chicago Wolves (AHL). Overall, he made 55 NHL appearances, contributing with 17 (7+10) points. Valentin subsequently tallied four (2+2) points in seven 2020/2021 Allsvenskan matches for MODO.

In 2014, Valentin claimed a bronze medal at the World Junior Championship with the under 20 Russian national team.
