SKA Hockey Club have signed a contract with Vyacheslav Voynov. The contract will run for three years, and the defenceman will play with the number 27. From the 31st of October Vyacheslav will begin training with SKA.
Vyacheslav Voynov went through the HC Traktor Chelyabinsk system, and started playing for the club in season 2005-2006. In the 2008 NHL Draft he was picked 32nd by the Los Angeles Kings. In America he played in the AHL, and took part in the AHL All-Star Game in 2011. In the 2011/2012 season be debuted in the NHL, and won the Stanley Cup in his first campaign. He won the Stanley Cup again in 2014.
He began representing the Russian national team in 2007, when taking a bronze medal at the World U18 Championship. In that same year, he won a silver medal at the World Junior Championship. In 2008 he took part in those two tournaments again, and won a silver medal at the U18 championship and a bronze at the U20. He was also included in the star team of the U18 tournament, and in 2009 he won another bronze in the U20 championship. He represented the main Russian national team at the 2014 Olympic Games.
