Dmitry Yudin is a defenceman who is product of the Sputnik hockey school. He started his professional career with Sputnik in 2011, and in the 2012 KHL Draft he was picked 10th by Yugra Khanty Mansiysk. He played for the club in the MHL. In October of the same year he was traded to SKA, and he spent the rest of that season with the club's youth team SKA-1946. Before the start of the 2013/2014 season he was called up the the main team's training camp, and he debuted for SKA's main team in that same season, becoming the youngest player in the club's history to play in the KHL. Throughout the course of the season he also appeared for SKA-1946 and VMF-Karelia (now known as SKA-Neva). Dmitry took part in the 2013 World Junior Championship for the Russian national team, and he won the Black Sea Cup with the same team. He has taken part in various international tournaments with the Russian national youth team.
