Vyacheslav Voynov is a defenseman who emerged from the Chelyabinsk ice hockey school. In 2008, he was picked 32nd by the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL Draft, and he began his North American career in the AHL. In 2011, he competed in the league's all-star game. During the 2011/2012 season, he started making appearances in the NHL, and in that campaign he won the Stanley Cup. Vyacheslav repeated the feat two years later.
Over the years, Vyacheslav has represented Russia on the international stage in many tournaments, and it all began with the triumphant under 18 World Championship in 2007. Later in that year, he took a silver medal from the under 20 World Championship. In 2008, he took part in the same two competitions, and won a silver and bronze medal. He was selected for the 2014 Olympic Games, and played in the bronze medal winning 2016 World Championship.
